Rotation

The method

With this second method, we work on a plate of wood or other material and to obtain the sculpture it is necessary to rotate the elements that compose it.

From 1985 to 1990 the exhibition activity came to a halt, not so my research which, on the contrary, resulted in what I call the “ROTATION” method; furthermore, in 1990 the personal exhibition at the Nanni Gallery in Bologna and the acquaintance of the critic Giorgio Ruggeri (who edited the first monograph: The shell in love) marked the beginning of my activity as a full-time sculptor.

With this second method, we work on a plate of wood or other material and to obtain the sculpture it is necessary to rotate the elements that compose it. The method immediately appeared to me much more powerful than that by stratification, both for the superior power of the works that can thus be made, and for the fact of being able to build, with the same project, not a single sculpture but an infinity of sculptures, which they take shape almost instantly under the hands of the user.
